Left Field Farm seeks part-time farm help
Left Field Farm in Bowdoinham, Maine, is seeking two part-time farmworkers for the 2013 season. Employment begins in mid-May and continues through September. Pay is hourly. The position is for approximately 20 hours/week. There is some flexibility as to days of the week.
This will be our first full season of production, growing a diverse mix of vegetables, plus strawberries, on seven acres. We market our produce through a CSA program, at Farmers’ Markets, and wholesale distribution. We are located on a peninsula with a number of other great small farms, making for a strong farm community and the ability to share and gain knowledge from other growers.
The preferred applicant will have a strong work ethic, pay attention to the small things, be willing to work alone at times, and be able to work under different and sometimes less than ideal environmental conditions. A good sense of humor is always appreciated. Previous farm experience a plus but not necessary.
