Russell Orchards in Ipswich, MA is looking for qualified, energetic, positive applicants for the position of Bakery Manager. This family-owned and operated business has a huge and loyal following for our farm-fresh goodies, all made from scratch in our bakery and sold on the premises in our retail store. The bakery manager is responsible for daily bakery operations including overseeing the production of daily baked goods and managing all other preparatory projects. Duties also include purchasing ingredients, merchandising products and creating relationships with customers. The bakery manager models best working practices to all bakery employees and is responsible for employee scheduling and training. The primary focus of the work is to create and maintain a bakery that uses the fruits and vegetables grown on our land in high-quality baked goods. The bakery supports the overall business by turning excess into a profitable product. The position requires the bakery manager to be organized and detail oriented. The seasonal aspect of the business requires flexibility and excellent planning skills to be able to capitalize on the high-season. The ideal candidate would have the ability to teach others, create effective work systems and be consistent and diligent. Prior food service management experience is a must.
