Hiring Assistant Growers on Organic Farm
Good Roots Farm, a small certified organic vegetable farm in Lincoln, MA, is seeking assistant growers for the 2014 season. The assistant grower will help with all aspects of vegetable and herb production, including seeding, transplanting, weeding, harvesting, packing, and farm maintenance tasks. In addition, the assistant grower will help manage the stand at one or more farmers’ markets.
The assistant grower will learn many features of operating a small organic farm producing food for market, including soil fertility management, weed and pest control, and marketing, while being a valuable part of a growing local food system.

- Ability and willingness to do hard physical labor in all weather conditions.
Negotiable. The assistant grower may also attend workshops and tours conducted by the Eastern Massachusetts Collaborative Regional Alliance for Farmer Training (EMassCRAFT).
Negotiable; at least 10-20 hours per week. Must be available for harvests on market days, which are to be determined. The season will last June through October, with start and end dates negotiable.
