Hyde Park, Massachusetts
Intern/Coordinator Positions- Hyde Park Farmers Market
Hyde Park Main Streets is re-building our neighborhood farmers market this season and looking for community members or others dedicated to making fresh healthy food available to join the team.
The market is to be held Thursdays from 3:00 to 7:00 PM from July 10- October 30th in Cleary Square just outside of the Commuter Rail stop and several bus lines. Our goal is to work with a small group of vendors to provide a wide diversity of products for the market.
In addition to our dedicated group of staff and board members we are looking for support with the following job functions. Every volunteer will have the opportunity to leave with some fresh produce from our stand, as well as valuable experience contributing to the successful running of a farmers market.
- Arrive at the market 30 minutes before opening to prepare the machine and outreach materials
- Swipe EBT cards and distribute tokens and Boston Bounty Bucks throughout the market
- Record all transactions at the market
- Communicate assistance programs including WIC, Senior Coupons, EBT, and BBB to customers and vendors
- Collect tokens and Bounty Bucks at the end of each market
- Assist Market Manager throughout the day
This is an excellent position for someone looking to learn more about the complicated ins and outs of food assistance programs and trials of food equality and access. Availability for the entire season is preferred but strong candidates will be given additional flexibility.

Produce Sales Coordinator
In order to make healthy, local, organic produce more available Hyde Park Main Streets has decided to take on the buying and selling of produce at the market ourselves. We hope by buying in bulk we can pass on more affordable prices to our community.
We are looking for volunteers who are comfortable handing money and have a good knowledge of fresh produce. Volunteers would be expected to help set up and break down the produce tent and man the stand throughout the market. Weekly attendance is preferred.
