Manager, Operations & Finance

LoMo Market is a team of farm luvin’ folks who want to connect customers with farm fresh foods.  If people who value high quality, local foods don’t have time to seek them out, LoMo Market will bring the food to them! LoMo Market has created a new retail experience where the market is on wheels.  You can walk through the market to pick and choose your favorite goodies.

Role:

The Manager of Finance and Operations will develop and implement processes to support and scale LoMo Market’s business.  This individual will smooth out and shore up inventory management, including:

  • negotiating with producers
  • tracking and managing inventory
  • pricing and margin
  • auditing POS for accuracy
  • trend analysis, recommendations, and forecasting
  • sales and cash flow

*This individual will report to the CEO and be a leader in the organization*

Responsibilities:

Finance

  • Take ownership for bookkeeping, accounts payable, payroll and operational financial strategy
  • Create and adhere to an operating budget; attain goals for sales, labor cost, and margin
  • Create reporting in Quickbooks and report regularly on the financial health of the business
  • Master the POS system and learn to leverage the technology to its potential; find ways to integrate with Quickbooks and automate data exchange between the systems
  • Audit inventory pricing and margins; make recommendations to adjust and improve
  • Monitor information in the POS, train crew on inventory control and pricing; follow up to correct errors

Operations

  • Research and understand the impact of inventory pricing, merchandising, and marketing; implement improvements
  • Roll-out procedures for ordering, receiving, pricing, and stocking the markets
  • Develop, plan, and execute product layout on the mobile markets to maximize average sales
  • Research industry best practice and make recommendations to CEO focused on procedural and operational improvement
  • Create Standard Operating Procedures for crew members to maximize efficiency on the markets
  • Lead the change management and communication necessary to effectively implement new processes, technology and behaviors
  • Foster a fun and creative environment – help lead an exceptional team

Requirements:

  • Minimum of five years’ experience in a combination of financial and operational roles
  • Experience in grocery, food or beverage industry required
  • Exceptional flexibility; thrives in a rapidly evolving environment
  • High degree of self-efficacy and internal drive; sets priorities and drives tasks to completion with minimal guidance and management
  • Superior communication skills; ability to flex communication style to be highly effective with a broad spectrum of collaborators
  • Desire to improve processes through the use of technology
  • Work experience spanning both a mature company and a startup a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Passion for food a must!
