We are coming into our second growing season at Stonework Farm in White Salmon, WA (about 7 miles up Snowden Road). We are looking for another person (or a couple) to help us out this year. We have a large vegetable garden that we’re working on expanding as well as a collection of animals: sheep, turkeys, chickens, ducks, rabbits, and dogs. We are going to be selling our products at farmers’ markets, through a CSA, and at local restaurants and stores.
We are three people sharing a house and living cooperatively. We have a bedroom available that we’re looking for someone to fill on a work-trade basis. Your room and access to our products will be provided in exchange for 20 hours a week of your time (with flexible scheduling) and your share of the utilities (usually around $100/month). This arrangement is on a month-to-month basis, with the potential to last throughout the growing season.
We’re looking for someone who is interested in living a sustainable lifestyle and is motivated and responsible. We’d like someone with a good work ethic and who has skills to bring to the table (previous farming and/or handy-person experience a plus!). Must be able to live communally with other people and lots of animals with no TV or microwave.
