Join us on our 12.5 acre organic urban farm for a 6 month Farm Education Apprenticeship. The Fairview Gardens Apprenticeship program provides a hands-on direct experience in farm education, community outreach, organic farming, and sustainable food systems. Apprentice roles include organizing and leading children’s programs, designing engaging and creative cooking, crating, and gardening activities, curriculum development and write-ups for after school program, educational material development for farm tours, tending to children’s garden, create educational signage, marketing/flyering, and tabling tabling at community events. Gain a variety of skills useful for teaching farm-based education, including developing age-appropriate activities, place-based curriculum, and engaging farm tours as well as participating in farm outreach events. Participants are also provided with opportunities to shadow parallel programs in our community. You also will work alongside our farming and marketing staff, engaging in all activities essential to the operation of an organic and public education farm. Yurt housing and stipend provided.
