Red Fire Farm hiring Harvest Supervisors

Montague, Massachusetts

Red Fire Farm, a leader in organic farming, is looking for experienced farm workers to help supervise this year’s harvest work. If you are passionate about local food systems and want to help teach and inspire new farmers, please consider applying.

Our crew leaders work hard, but that work is fulfilling — and all of it takes place in some of the most beautiful spots in western Massachusetts. Leaders, with the support of 4 to 7 crew members, will primarily manage the daily harvest for our 1500+ member CSA and large wholesale accounts.

Red Fire has 100 acres in cultivation. We grow just about every veggie that can be grown in this climate; this season we’re expanding our operation to include ginger, shitakes and tree fruit. Our main business is CSA: we have 1,500+ members around the state. But we also sell produce at our farm stands, farmers markets and to wholesale customers big and small, including Wegman’s supermarket chain. We are dedicated to a seriously high quality product and hold a deep belief in organic practices. We’re a large production farm with the heart and soul of a tiny operation.

More about what we’re looking for:
-Ideally two years of farming experience Excellent communication skills A positive attitude and sense of humor An excellent driving record Willingness to hustle and promote hustle with crew members -Previous leadership or management experience (a plus)

Other perks of the job include:
-Year-round and unlimited access to the farm’s delicious, organic produce
-Fresh air and exercise
-An open, friendly environment where your feedback is welcomed
