Cook and Kitchen Assistant Wanted for Prep and Food Service Help @ SQM
Stillman Quality Meats, LLC is a sustainable livestock farm located in Hardwick, MA. specializing in grass-fed beef, lamb and pastured pork and poultry- including chicken, turkey and seasonal water fowl. Our farm operation is unique- we are fully integrated, raising and processing all of our livestock in our on-farm poultry abattoir and red meat processing facility. In addition, the farm operation features a commercial kitchen where we produce a variety of value added meat and food products to be sold through our retail outlets on farm and in the Boston area. We currently operate 20 farmers’ market sites in the Boston area and are expanding our year round booth at the Boston Public Market. SQM is looking for a crew member to join our team with experience in a restaurant kitchen to help prepare, distribute and serve food for our farmers’ markets and Boston Public Market sites. The applicant will be working closely with the entire SQM team including the farm butcher, the farmer owner- Kate and various local chef’s and associates within our farm network to produce products and further develop farm menus and offerings. Candidates must have an interest in local “farm-to-table” foods and a strong knowledge of basic kitchen functions with an interest to learn more. Candidates must have a positive work attitude, be dependable and have a willingness to work in a high pressure environment. This position is 2-3 days per week with the potential to increase seasonally. Must be willing to work 1 weekend day and have a valid driver’s license with a good driving record. Servsafe certification is not required, but heavily preferred.
