Farm to Table Personal Chef Needed for a small family Winston-Salem, NC

An esteemed private and small household with the grace and charm of Downton Abbey, seeks a unique personal chef that is inspired by the west coast spa cuisines. The celebration of glorious foods and wines with family and friends makes the chef   the keynote with every dining experience. While service and presentation should be of the highest caliber, the chef will embrace the farm to table concept. Job  Responsibilities:

  • Prepare delicious lunch and dinners meals that have significant calorie restrictions: spa inspired
  • Prepare foods maintaining the highest sanitary conditions
  • Prepare a variety of cuisines, including but not limited to SpaGInspired, American, Italian, and French
  • Pair wine with meals
  • Design menus and prepare meals using organic ingredients
  • Network with local farmers and markets for the freshest ingredients
  • Prepare meal for dinner parties of up to 12 people
  • Coordinate with caterer, party rental and other vendors
  • Hire, manage and train service staff as needed
  • Manage the kitchen, including inventory and shopping for food items, ensuring food is properly stored and organized, checking expiration dates, and sanitizing work and eating
  • Travel to family’s vacation home as needed
  • Maintain and organize a small wine cellar
  • Oversee kitchen expenses and equipment

Job Requirements:

  • Professional training as a chef and a minimum of 3 to 5 years experience working as a chef
  • Experience preparing low calorie spa cuisine
  • Ability to prepare a variety of healthy and tasty meals using organic ingredients
  • Knowledge of nutrition
  • Knowledge of formal table settings
  • Ability to set up and tend bar a plus
  • Ability to work flexible hours and weekends
  • Respectful and polite demeanor
  • Upbeat and happy personality
  • Ability to maintain professional boundaries
  • Excellent work ethic
  • Dependable, reliable, and prompt
  • Pet (specifically cat and bird) friendly
  • Must be willing to travel domestically
  • Works well independently and with other service staff
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Ability to pass a thorough background investigation
