Farm Manager Position
Grants Farm is a large commercial vegetable farm located in Saco, Maine. Our 30+ years of operation has made Grants Farm one of the leading farms in southern Maine. While sweet corn and green beans are our major crop we do have 1100 high bush blueberries and the possibility of space for other crops and expansion.

We are hiring a full-time, seasonal Farm Manager. In this role you will play a variety of key roles throughout the season raising our sweet corn and green beans, running irrigation, assisting with produce harvest and being a back-up manager for the packing shed. This role is a very handson manager role where you may be leading a crew of labor one day and operating equipment the next.

You have a passion for agriculture and 5 years of farming experience You are comfortable both leading a team and working independently You would enjoy working in a healthy atmosphere and share the same core values of Grants Farm: Quality, Teamwork, Courage, Achievement, Honesty, & Happiness You are comfortable working the long hours during peak seasons (12+ hours a day, 7 days a week during harvest)
The Duties include but are not limited to;
Assist in managing the planting of row crops and other vegetable crops. Assist in daily crop care decisions. Help scout row crops and vegetable crops for crop problems. Manage laborers during certain tasks throughout the season. Assist in keeping accurate field records. Assist in managing the harvest of row crops and vegetable crops. Help create annual crop plans. Operate and maintain farm equipment.
- Minimum of 5 years of on farm experience
- Associate’s degree or bachelor’s degree in related field preferred
- FISMA Food Safety Experience
- Crop Pest, Nutrient and Fertility management experience
- Pesticide Applicators license and CDL required
- Mechanical abilities
- Great attitude is highly valued
- Must be a self-motivated individual who is willing to learn
