Job Description

Fiddlehead Farm is currently hiring one part-time (32 hours a week) farm crew member for the 2018 season. This is a seasonal position, running from the beginning of June through mid-November (with the potential to stay on through the winter). The pay starts at $11 per hour.

About the Farm

We are a Certified Organic, first generation, women owned and operated farm. We farm in beautiful Corbett, OR, 16 miles outside of Portland. Our produce is sold both wholesale and direct at two farmers markets, to a local natural grocery chain, a food coop, several processors, and a handful of restaurants. We are currently growing over 200 varieties of 40 different crops. Our growing practices go beyond organic and we have a strong focus on sustainability, good land stewardship, and resource conservation.


Position Description

This is a part-time position (4 days/ week) with 8-hour work days Thursday through Sunday. The season runs from the beginning of June through mid-November (With the potential to continue into the winter). The crew member will participate in most aspects of the farm work, including seeding, transplanting, trellising, irrigation, weeding, harvesting, processing, and staffing the farmers market. They will work alongside the two owners, two interns, and regular volunteers to complete tasks. The work environment is positive and upbeat and there is a strong focus on good communication.


Desired Experience/Qualifications

  • At least 1-2 years experience working on a diverse vegetable farm

  • Some customer service and/or cashier experience.

  • Reliable transportation to the farm

  • Disciplined, organized, and responsible

  • Ability to lift 60 lbs

  • Strong work ethic

  • Positive attitude

  • Attention to detail

  • Needs to be open to all types of people, races, cultures, genders, and sexual orientations
