Summary:

  • Manage day to day operations of the warehouse including processing incoming/outgoing inventory, supervising drivers, maintaining safety SOPs, communicating with growers to promote a trustful working relationship and communicating with the sales team.
  • Create, maintain, monitor and communicate crop production plan to the growers and sales team.

Principle Responsibilities:

  • Maintain inventory accuracy/quality/movement (i.e. FIFO)
  • Manage purchase orders and incoming inventories.
  • Production planning.
  • Continuously improve distribution efficiencies
  • Manage Warehouse Staff
  • Coordinate volunteers for CSA assembly
  • Office/Facility management including box inventory, facility supplies and shared use equipment
  • Website updates and management

Duties to include:

  • Maintaining accurate product physical and electronic inventory

  • Monitor inventory to maximize sales/minimize shrinkage
  • Communicate quality standards and Purchase Orders to Growers
  • Communicate with Growers on incoming/upcoming inventory
  • Maintain accurate forecast boards with upcoming items
  • Put together “Gotta Go List” and communicate quality issues to sales team
  • Maintain accurate materials inventory and order when necessary

  • Manage the office and responsible for accurate inventory of warehouse supplies, office supplies, and box inventory.
  • Coordinate Volunteers for CSA bag assembly
  • Manage shared use equipment rental and box sales

Competencies:

Excellent computer skills and proficiency in all Microsoft Office products and WordPress.  Knowledge of QuickBooks is a plus.

Work Environment

The job operates in a warehouse environment including coolers/freezers that require dressing warmly. This role routinely uses warehouse equipment including fork lifts and pallet jacks. This role uses technology equipment such as computers. Additionally, this position works within the community to attend events.

Summary:

Sales & Marketing Manager is responsible for managing all stages of sales and marketing cycle of grower/producer products to retail and wholesale accounts including restaurants customers. Develop new customers, maintaining customer relationships and providing market feedback to warehouse team and growers. Promote products, producers and events through social media and other traditional marketing channels.

Principle Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate customer list and develop strong relationships with retail, foodservice and wholesale businesses

High Country CSA Coordinator Position

The High Country CSA is a multi-farm Community Supported Agriculture Business. The mission of High Country CSA is to produce socially and ecologically responsible food through collaboration between small farms in the High Country. HC-CSA envisions a local food system which mutually benefits the farmers, the ecosystem, and the community.

The HC-CSA is currently housed under Blue Ridge Women in Agriculture, and is working towards incorporating as an independent LLC. There are four farms who supply produce to the HC-CSA and they also play a key role in decision making and set policy. The HC-CSA Coordinator reports to the Executive Director of BRWIA in financial matters and to Farmer Representatives for day-to-day operations. The HC-CSA position is part-time, generally 10-15 hours per week in the off season (November through April), and 25-30 per week during the season (May through October). We are offering $12 to $15 per hour depending on experience and skill set.

RESPONSIBILITIES During Production/Distribution Season:

• Clearly communicate contents of shares to members at pick-up sites
• Confirm share counts and communicate with farmers weekly regarding the upcoming delivery

Production Manager
